About Us
Mike King founded Mike King Heating & Cooling, Inc in Muncie, IN in March of 1999. He had worked for his dad in high school, but he decided he wanted to branch out and create his own company. We have always been small and family-owned, committed to being available for our customers 24/7, 365 days a year. Mike and his team are always there when someone needs them. We handle residential and commercial HVAC projects large and small. We carry a wide range of TEMPSTAR® products, but we are also proud to handle all makes and models!
Our Owners
Mike and Kari King are dedicated to providing efficient, thorough HVAC services for homes and businesses across Muncie, IN and the surrounding areas. Their goal is to treat every job like they are working in their own home, so that everything is done right the first time. Mike is the founder of the company, and he serves on the HVAC Board with the City of Muncie, and he is also a member of the Muncie Home Builders Association. Kari has always worked the office, and she has previously also worked at Ball State University. She now works at Mike King Heating & Cooling, Inc full time. Mike and Kari have two sons, Connor and Corbin.

Jeff Werckman, Office Manager
I have been in the Heating and Cooling Industry for over 22 years. After 15 years in the HVAC Wholesale Industry, I joined Mike Heating & Cooling, the leader in the area for HVAC, to help in the office. Mike King Heating & Cooling is a great company to work for, great group of employees, and focuses on customer service first.
Brad Slaven, Service Technician
My name is Brad Slaven. I have been doing heating and cooling for 26 years. I enjoy working at Mike King Heating & Cooling because I believe that when you have good hard working people that work well together, it makes a great company. It’s also family owned and operated and everyone who works here is part of that extended family.
Daniel Swango, Sales
My name is Daniel Swango. I am married to Chantel. We have been married for ten years and have two kids, MacKenzie, 9, and Braiden, 5. I have been at Mike Heating and Cooling for seven years. I have been doing heating and air for 14 years. I enjoy working for Mike and Kari King because they are easy going. Just great people. I plan on finishing my career at Mike King Heating and Cooling.
Michael Weaver, Lead Installer
I am a 1990 graduate of Monroe Central High School. I am married with two girls that go to Delaware Community Schools. I have 22 years of experience. I recently started with Mike last summer. It’s been a great experience working with a company that treats every customer like they’re the only customer.
Melissa Hart, Dispatcher
My name is Melissa Hart. I have lived in Muncie all my life, and Graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting. I have worked here at Mike King Heating and Cooling for the past 8 months as the dispatcher. I have a back ground in Logistics as well as twenty plus years of customer service experience. I’ve truly enjoyed my time working here, Mike and Kari genuinely care about your well-being, and most importantly about taking care of your family!
Kyle Ayres, Service Technician
My name is Kyle Ayres. I am from Middletown, Indiana. I took up an education and career in HVAC from IVY Tech, after retiring from a career in the U.S Army. I have worked for Mike King since 2017. I love working for this company. As a customer you get big company know how, mixed with a small company feel.
